Nutty Palmier Hearts

Don't know what to bake for Mother's Day? No worries! Ate Kitchen ensured that we have more than enough ideas to choose from.

These Nutty Palmer hearts are super easy to make, lovely with a cup of tea and absolutely divine. Add a splash of pink by adding decorations, and voila! You are sorted.

Ingredients

  • Puff Pastry
  • Fine Demerara Sugar 50g
  • Ground Cinnamon 1 teaspoon
  • MONTAGU Hazelnuts 50g
  • MONTAGU Almonds 50g

Instructions

Mix together the sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle two-thirds over the puff pastry together with two-thirds of the finely chopped nuts.
Working with the longest side of the pastry, fold both ends to meet in the middle, push down lightly and top with half the remaining sugar, cinnamon and nuts.
Repeat this step again once more, then fold in half and cut into 1cm thick strips and place onto a lined baking tray cut side up.
Bake at 180°C for 6-7 minutes, then turn over and bake for a further 6-7 minutes.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
