Dried fruit is produced when drying methods are used to remove most of the water found in fresh fruit. Raisins, dates, prunes, apricots and figs are the most commonly found varieties of dried fruit. But cranberries, apples, mangoes, bananas and pineapples can also be found. Fibre has many potential health benefits. Studies have found that fibre can help to prevent heart disease, obesity, and certain cancers. The antioxidant called polyphenol is believed to have many health benefits including improved blood circulation and digestive health, decreased oxidative damage, and reduced risk of heart disease, diabetes, various types of cancer, and potentially degenerative brain disorders. 

On the other hand, dried fried contain concentrated levels of fructose or fruit sugars, and should be enjoyed in moderation. That being said, large quantities of even the healthiest food can have adverse effects on our health, and moderation should be applied to everything that we eat.
