Biltong Bread With BBQ Peanut & Thyme Butter

You can never have too many braai side dish recipes! Impress your friends at the next bring and braai, with this delicious biltong, cheddar cheese and parsley bread served with Montagu Smokehouse BBQ peanuts and thyme butter and chilli beef snap sticks. Ingredients

Bread
 1. 2 cups (500ml) Self raising flour 
2. ½ tsp Salt
3. 100g Butter, softened
4. 1 cup (250ml) cheddar cheese, grated plus extra to put on top
5. Handful of Italian parsley, chopped
6. 1 cup (250ml) Montagu sliced biltong, chopped
7. 1 egg
8. 10ml Whole grain mustard
9. 150ml Full cream milk

  Butter 
1. 250g Butter, softened
2. 1 packet Montagu smokehouse BBQ peanuts , chopped
3. 10ml Fresh thyme leaves

Method

Bread
 1. Mix the flour and salt together and rub in the butter. 
2. Mix the egg, mustard and milk together and add to the dry ingredients.
3. Mix slightly and add the cheese, parsley and biltong.
4. Knead the dough slightly and place in a prepared bread tin.
5. Bake for approx. 30 minutes on 180 degrees Celsius.
6. As soon as the bread comes out of the oven, put the rest of the cheese over and let it melt.

  Butter 
1. Mix the butter, peanuts and thyme together. 
2. Serve with the freshly baked bread and Montagu chilli beef snap sticks.
